The Matis Enterprise began operating in 1868 as a halva manufacturer – one of the first in Greece – because sesame, which is the basic raw material for halva products, was abundant in the region.
In 1948 the family business expanded through the introduction of cheese. It took advantage of its favourable position in a milk-producing prefecture, making the company close to the regional dairy farms and to gather fresh milk on a daily basis.
Today Matis Brothers SA produces quality products, both dairy and halva, in modern facilities, giving Matis their comparative advantage – quality.
We stock a wide range of Matis halva and kaseri cheese.
